UTR College Tournament

I-Con Sports and AGM Sports, which organizes the UTR tournament, are the Spanish companies with the most experience and reputation helping Spanish tennis players to reach universities in the United States thanks to sports scholarships.
Since 2004, when both companies were founded, they have helped hundreds of Spanish tennis players, accompanying them during their years in the USA.
Its founders, Marc Becker and Gonzalo Corrales, were top level tennis players, studied in the United States and finished their studies in American universities.
We were the first to organize UTR tournaments in Spain, bringing together American coaches with Spanish tennis players. This groundbreaking event in 2018 led to similar events in subsequent years.

Registration limited to players born in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

UTR Tournament – All matches in the tournament will count towards the UTR ranking, used by the American coaches in their evaluation of players. Each player will have a minimum of 4 matches during the tournament.
American coaches – Presence of university coaches during the tournament.
Online profile for coaches – College coaches will have access to the academic and athletic information of the participants, who are in the process, to learn more about each player and be able to initiate communications.
Informative and educational sessions – Sessions led by our professionals, covering all types of topics, related to the process and the US experience, important for the players and their parents.
Listen and meet players who have been to the USA – There is nothing better than hearing the stories of other players who have already lived the American experience. Ask them everything you would like to know about your future college life in the USA.
Gifts and benefits – Enjoy the Welcome Bag that we will give you upon arrival, with a T-shirt of the event and with benefits and discounts from companies that collaborate with I-Con Sports and AGM.
Help for tennis players in difficult economic situations – Players who participate in the event and who demonstrate that their families are going through a difficult economic situation, will be put on a list for I-Con Sports to work with them free of charge, thanks to the Rafa Nadal Foundation.

Type of tournament:

It will be a UTR tournament, with 4 matches that count towards the ranking. It will also have talks related to the American university system on the 4 days at the facilities.
The matches will start at 17:00, so that the players can train in their academies or play tournaments in the same week. The information sessions each day, for players and parents, will be held at 16:00, before the games.

What is UTR?

Ranking that all tennis players have, acquired by competing in most local, regional, national or international tournaments.
It is the most important indicator for university coaches to evaluate all international tennis players. The first thing coaches ask is: what is this player’s UTR ranking?
To improve the UTR ranking you have to play matches that count for the ranking, beat higher ranked players and not lose against lower ranked players. The more you play, the more chances you have to improve your ranking.
